Illinois Poison Center - Continuing Education Credit
The IL Poison Center’s (IPC) free online Poison Prevention Education Course is approved by the IL Department of Public Health and Gateways to Opportunity Registry-Approved for 1 hour CEC credit.
For Illinois Childcare Providers:
This course may be used by Gateways to Opportunity (GTO) members toward Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) annual in-service training hour requirements and toward professional development requirements required for renewal of Professional Educator Licensure (PEL) through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) unless otherwise noted. Anyone who completes the course starting Oct. 1, 2017 will automatically receive the CEC credit on their GTO Personal Development Record (4-6 weeks after course completion).
Gateways Registry Members who completed the IPC’s Poison Prevention Education Course/Curso de Educacion Para la Prevencion de Envenenamientos prior to Oct. 1, 2017, may self-report the training on the Gateways Registry website: www.ilgateways.com by logging into the Dashboard and clicking on My Registry then Learn links. When self-reporting, it is recommended that the member retain a copy of the IPC’s Certificate of Completion (training certificate) as proof of completion.
